What is the Two Bit Circus Foundation (2BCF)?
2BCF is a 501(c)3 educational nonprofit that makes inspiring, hands-on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, & math) education accessible to kids in all economic situations. We provide STEAM resources to underserved schools and educational programs, presented as sustainable, playful projects that nurture innovation & critical thinking in the next generation of inventors. We've impacted over 2 million youth, while redirecting 900+ tons of reusable materials from landfills to classrooms.
What communities do your programs serve?
2BCF serves kids ages 4-18. 2BCF’s STEAM Lab Makerspace program is currently active in 330 schools, serving over 50% Title I students. Of the kids served by the over 16,540 Makerspace workshops in 134 LA Libraries, over 60% are low income. The vast majority of the kids we reach, although not all, are in the greater Los Angeles area. They are 91% people of color, and 9% Caucasian, and 50% female.
